Kanye west's new song reaction

A friend of mine (shout-out to Armo!) recently sent me a direct message imploring that I simply must listen to Kanye West's new song thing. Now, I don't listen to him, so I wouldn't normally be in a position to comment, but this time I did because it seemed pretty important.

A few years ago, I was compelled to produce a portrait of Kanye for a poster I made up that rates him as "a comic legend". It was after his infamous performance of a Queen classic that he murdered at Glastonbury. Everyone was talking about it. At the time, I could only bring myself to describe that performance as a work of comic genius. It's not easy to do comedy, and I found it to be irresistibly hilarious. Drink in the epic build-up during the intro and appreciate that opening line: It's an amazing moment. The more I thought about it, the funnier it got. There was no way that this wasn't done intentionally. For me, he was a living, breathing satirical character and the real art he was producing wasn't in his music, but in the talking points he was creating.

Who can remember the time he 'designed a t shirt', which was a plain white shirt, and was flogging them for $120 dollars each? They sold out "almost instantly". Or who can forget the time he said that he was bankrupt?

Who remembers this Image of Kanye as Jesus Christ on the cover of the rolling stone? Who doesn't know about his announcement on his intention to run for president?

I could go on...

I made the poster hoping that it would one day it's contents be revealed to be true, that he is just a comedy character trolling the world. Wouldn't that be great? I have lived in hope ever since. His latest release, titled: "lift yourself" is more evidence for me that he's taking the piss.
